NEA Research Part 4 - Media Language and Representation


Introduction 

For this task I need to research the media language elements used in magazines and how this constructs representations and appeal to their target audience. This will be important in understanding what makes an entertainment magazine a successful entertainment magazine. I will look at two texts including their front cover, contents page and double/single spread pages.

 Conclusion

 Creating this post really helped me understand the key elements used in magazines including the front cover, contents page and double page spread. For example, I understand the use of text used and what that means by the representation. When it comes to relating this to my magazine I will use a similar camera shot like a mid shot or from the shoulder up shot as many entertainment magazines use this. This is because is because it is usually a high status celebrity who is smiling. So, as a result of this, this attracts audiences as the magazine looks more approachable to them by their facial expressions and tone to it. Overall, this is beneficial in knowing what to include in my final product by the content and layout shown.
